• Ephemeral Data: Audio data (for pronunciation features) and image data (for screenshots or progress visuals) are processed temporarily on your device and not stored or shared.

3. Permissions Used

The app may request the following permissions to provide its core functionality:

• Audio: Used for pronunciation and listening exercises. Audio data is processed locally and not transmitted.
• Media & Files: Used to save screenshots or progress visuals locally on your device.
• Notifications: Used to send local, in-app notifications to teach you new words. These are generated locally and do not involve external data transmission.
• Network (Optional): Used only for optional app updates or fetching non-personal lesson content.

4. Third-Party Services

The Learn Nepali App uses libraries and SDKs configured to respect your privacy and operate offline where possible:

• Expo and React Native Libraries: Libraries such as expo-av, expo-image-manipulator, and expo-notifications process data locally on your device.
• Expo Updates: The expo-updates library may fetch app updates. This process involves non-personal data (e.g., app version metadata) only.
• Axios: Used for optional network requests to fetch non-personal content. No user data is transmitted via Axios.

5. Network Usage

The Learn Nepali App operates fully offline by default. Optional network access may be used to check for app updates or fetch non-personal content, such as new lessons or app metadata. No personal or user-generated data is transmitted during these operations.

6. Children's Privacy

Our app is designed to be safe and educational for users of all ages, including children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13, and no data is transmitted off-device.

We follow industry best practices to secure the app and protect data stored locally on your device. Local storage is used securely to prevent unauthorized access to your quiz progress or settings.
